TACUBAYA 1949

At the bottom of that ancient childhood
there stood the trees the simulacrum of a river
a house behind the orchard the wind-blown sun
that seared all the years
                            A desert
which even today they call Tacubaya

Of this nothing stayed on
In the memory too
ruins make room for newer ruins
