  SINGING CAFÉ

Lamps of crystal
and green mirrors.

On the dark stage
Parrala holds
a dialogue
with death.
Calls her,
she won’t come,
Calls her again.
The people
swallow their sobbing.
And in the green mirrors
long trails of silk
move.
