SARASA'S RESPONSE TO MONTORO IN THIS SONNET
Nothing, or little in so many foolish troops
Of assonance, fail, and stubborn,
Does not print in soft nectar of harmonies
The vile aftertaste of a rude cup.
To this incapable customs, which in everything bumps,
Go to search merchandise,
That she still does not know; But poetry?
Man, what do you understand about these clothes?
Your censorship is a body of appearance,
With what respect do you serve by flattering
In whom there is no intellectual substance:
To make amends is an act of science,
But you not knowing, and amending,
You want to make ignorance discreet.
